Why are weight loss programs so expensive?

jcbc asked:

How is it that almost all the world is obese and it’s such a big problem, but almost all programs charge through the nose to lose weight? This discourages people from losing the weight (even very serious people) because they can’t afford the program. Anyone have some insight?

if you want something badly enough, you’ll give anything for it. and they know that.

Supply and demand! People are so eager to have a miracle plan, that they will pay out the nose for stupid weight loss plans that hardly work. You can lose weight literally for free….it just takes motivation and drive.

supply and demand, if you thought a bunch of fat people would pay big bucks for your soy meal you’d up the charge and collect.

Simple. cause people are willing to pay that much. and because if someone invests that much $ they will be willing to do what the program says. and also if they are willing to pay a lot of $, then it is worth it to them to try and succeed.

I’ve never used a program to lose weight, I lost 55 lbs and kept it off with eating healthy and exercise. I think a person lacks will power if they can’t do the obvious to lose weight. I don’t think a person needs a diet program to lose weight, so many fail at them because they cheat. Of course the weight loss companies are just as greedy as the rest of them.

You shouldn’t have to pay to lose weight. Just get out and start walking and learn what to eat. I lost 60 lb and just exercised and ate right. Weight loss companies are in business to make money – not really to help you lose weight.

Some people feel like they need someone to hold their hand and encourage them to do the right thing. I guess if you can’t do it on your own – then it might be worth it to pay for the emotional support.

Weight loss programs don’t even work. What you need is good nutrition and exercise. And not OVEREATING. No pill anyone takes is going to help them lose weight for good and “keep eating whatever they want” like some claim to have the power to do. I think overweight people want the product so bad even though it has false promises…that the manufacturers know they can up the price because they will still make sales. It’s ridiculous. All people need is to stop overeating, get a gym membership and get off the couch. I **** all the diet programs that claim you do not have to change your eating habits or anything like that when it is obviously a piece of the problem. Lots of people need psychological counseling along with their lifestyle changes. People who are severely overweight usually have issues deeper than just being overweight.

because usaully if you go to a health club the personal trainers charge say 40-60 dollars a session why because they only make commission on sessions and even then they will probably only make oh 30-40 percent. Its supply and demand, you need help well theres someone that will help but they need help with there bills so thats where the high bill comes from. what i suggest is get a group of people and set up a session with a PT and that could lower it down to possibly 25 dollars depending on how many people you get. And as a reminder most health clubs will give you a free assessment and possibly a free session to show you the ropes and get you started! Good luck with everything

Yeah well the reason why is that problem is we are in a rescission so everybody are tight on there money. So no one is spending money and when people don’t spend money the weight loss programs get expensive so that is why.

Because they’re suckering people who don’t know that all you have to do to lose weight is eat small portions of healthy food 6 times a day, exercise, and sleep properly.

Oh wait, I should have charged you 3 easy payments of $39.99 before I told you that.
